Every person who dwelt in Asia heard the Word of God in just two years! That’s amazing when you think about it. Every person! Let’s briefly ponder this claim. The Scriptures cannot overstate anything. An overstatement is when we declare something larger than reality. If I return from a fishing trip and say, “I caught every fish in that lake,” what I’m attempting to communicate is what a great day I had fishing. However, in no way is it true that I actually caught every fish in the lake. This is an overstatement, an exaggeration. Honestly, it’s a lie—but Scripture cannot lie or overstate. So if the report is that every person heard the Word of God in two years, then that means every person!

Paul taught in the same school each day, so there is no possible way every person in the entire region of Asia could have paraded through that small school in that time period. The population of Asia Minor at the time was estimated at over eleven million people! They weren’t broadcasting Paul’s teachings via satellite or cable television. They didn’t cover him live on radio. So how could this actually have happened? The answer is obvious: Believers now understood that God had not only given them grace to be saved and to live holy but also grace to advance the kingdom. And they were doing it!
